MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers and is dedicated to the message that "mothering matters." Founded in 1973 by eight women in Colorado, MOPS has grown into a world-wide non-profit organization serving over 100,000 mothers from all walks of life through thousands of chartered groups in 29 countries.

MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy through kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique challenges. MOPS exists to meet the needs of every mom - urban, suburban and rural moms, stay-at-home and working moms, teen, single and married moms - moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be!

MOPS groups meet to celbrate the joys of motherhood and to encourage each other through the challenges of raising preschoolers. Our MOPS program includes teaching by mentors and other speakers, discussion, community and opportunities to develop creativity while children are cared for in the childcare/MOPPETS program.

Visit the MOPS International website for more information about the group, resource articles, forums and encouragement for moms.
