The
goal of MQP MOPS Community Outreach is to provide MOPS Moms
with a few designated outreach opportunities. We all lead
such busy and full lives. For many of us, the desire to
serve the community is there, but we may not know where
to start, who to help and where our resources, time and
talent might be most needed. We hope that by reaching out
to the community together we will have fun as well as fulfill
our wish to serve.

Providing regular transport of the donations left in the
MQP Bell Tower to Eastside Baby Corner.
Ongoing
Service Opportunity - Soldier Support:
This year, one of our most important Outreach Projects
will be providing "soldier support". We will be
assembling care packages to send to America's forgotten
soldiers. There are many service men and women who do not
receive a single letter from home, let alone a package.
For all of us who have lived overseas, we know how much
those little treats from home can mean.
We have teamed up with an Army Chaplin in Afghanistan to
provide letters of support along with care packages. The
suicide rate among our soldiers is at the highest it has
been in 26 years. Let's show them how much we appreciate
their work and remember; someday it could be one of our
children.
We will rotate tables each month to provide gifts for the
soldiers. Items most requested: coffee creamer, sun screen,
Starbucks ground coffee, peanuts, beef jerky, drink mix
(Gatorade, kool-aid), power bars, homemade treats. No chocolate...
it melts.
If you would like to participate, you can bring the items
to MOPS (the second meeting of each month), or you can drop
them off at Outreach Coordinator Michele Simmons' house.
Packages go out on Fridays.
